Credit card on file requirement
|
Please be aware that when creating a new tournament on PickleballTournaments.com, it is now required that the Tournament Director (TD) input a payment method in the tournament setup.
This payment method will be used to pay tournament related service fees incurred by the tournament during its course of operation (i.e.: service fees not collected directly from players during the registration process), and will be charged when the tournament’s outstanding balance reaches a threshold of $250 and/or when the tournament ends and locks.
In order for the tournament to go live and accept registrations, this payment method setup must be complete.
Note: Tournaments using our escrow services to collect registration payment will not be required to have a payment method setup to go live.

Record numbers for PickleballTournaments.com
|
2024 was a record year for players finding and playing in tournaments. Over 2,700 tournaments were completed in 2024.
This year has started out even stronger and so far in 2025 there are already 1,100 tournaments open for registration on PickleballTournaments.com.
|
Also for 2025, we're committed to helping and reminding players to get in the game and register for local tournaments! You might have already seen our series of personalized emails that started in February.
Twice a month we'll be sending emails to our entire player database showing them tournaments 150 miles from their address.
The 1st week of the month players will recieve an email with tournaments near them open for registration and the 3rd week of the month, they will receive a reminder of those tournaments whose registrations are closing within 2 weeks.
This means that when you run a tournament on PickleballTournaments, you have the power of our marketing behind you, for free!

New Club user interface on Pickleball.com
|
We have been introducing our new user interface over time within Pickleball.com, but players and managers still had the option to use the PickleballBrackets URL. In January, we officially said "goodbye" to the old PickleballBrackets user interface and now direct you only to Pickleball.com to find and manage all of your play. You can also go directly to specific play areas by using their direct URLs:
For tournaments: pickleballtournaments.com For leagues: pickleballleagues.com For clubs: pickleballclubs.com
The legacy PickleballBrackets URL will continue to redirect to the correct place in the new user interface.
This might have caused you to find and manage tournament play a little differently and we apologize for any confusion this may have caused. Our goal is to continue to improve the user experience for both players and managers with dynamic and personalized experiences. This month’s newsletter provides insights into a few new capabilities that we think you will value. We will continue to provide these types of updates as we deploy new capabilities, so stay tuned!
To easily find all of the Clubs you are managing follow these steps: - Login to Pickleball.com - Click on "Manage" in your User Menu - Click on "Organizations" - Click on the Club you want to manage
|
Also, we've written a guide to help you navigate the new layout and all of the new features. Look for a dedicated "Clubs" newsletter next month where we'll highlight many new capabiltiies, but in the meantime access our Club Help Docs Here -->

Control the max rating difference for players that "play up"
|
Once you set the skill set for your event, you have a new option to also set a "Max Rating Difference". Your choices range from any to .5, 1.0 or 1.5.
Let's see an example. If you set the Skill to 4.0 only, this actually means your players can register for this event if they are rated 4.0 to 4.49.
|
If you also select "Lower skill players can signup", you have the option to decide how much lower their rating can be. In this example, if you choose .5, players that are within a .5 difference of 4.0 would be able to register.
This keeps players that are rated lower than 3.5 from being able to register and "play up" in this event. ❓ Help with Setting Rating Levels

Choose the time of day you'd like an event to show
|
In the "Display Time Type" drop-down, you have multiple choices to determine when you'd like your event to show. You can choose to show the selected time, show the generic time of day, or not show either. If you select "None" then only the date will show on PickleballTournaments. ❓Help with Displaying Events

Print scorecards for your tournament
|
Match scorecards may be printed by three different methods: Individually by match, By Event for all matches, or Automatically for the Next Available match.
|
Ways to print:
(1) Direct to printer: If you have a printer connected directly to the computer or computers being used for score input, you do not have to use the print spooler.
(2) Local network printer: If you are printing score sheets using the Next Available basis, you must enter the scores on a computer that has an attached local printer.
(3) Print spooler: If you want all score sheets to go to just one of those printers, you would install and use the "Print Spooler".
Note: The computer running the "Print Spooler" must be a Windows computer in order to download the softare.
Tip: You can also set up a separate computer with a connected printer that is only for printing score sheets.

2025 Rule: 12.C.4.a. If a player/team withdraws, retires, or is forfeited from a round robin without a playoff then that player’s/team’s match results will not count toward the standings of that round robin. The match results will count towards a player’s/team’s rating. If a player/team withdraws, retires, or is forfeited from a round robin with a playoff then that player’s/team’s match results will not count toward the standings of that round robin and the player/team will not be eligible to move on to a playoff elimination draw. The match results will count towards a player’s/team’s rating.
📍Software Note: Tournament directors can override this during your playoff confirmation and move players that should not be in the playoffs back. This is a manual process during the playoff verification.
📍Ratings Note: All recorded matches will count for ratings except: Withdrawal, Cancel, and Unplayed matches.
