Why and How to Verify Events
|
The first step to creating brackets for your tournament is to verify them and add in the details you want the event to perform. Verification confirms that all participants are properly registered and that the event details are accurate.
|
Key steps to Verifying in the Live Console: (1) Verify teams (2) Verify bracket/pool options (3) Verify settings (4) Verify seeding (5) Verify first round matchups (6) Go live
|
Once your events have been verified, they will appear in the waiting section of the Live Console. This section acts as a staging area where you can review all upcoming matches before starting them.

Sanctioning and Ratings - Do You Need Them?
|
Sanctioning is an official approval process where your tournament is recognized by a governing organization such as USA Pickleball or Pickleball Canada. This recognition can:
- Increase credibility: standardized rules and regulations
- Attract more participants: often receive greater visibility
- Enable fair competition: use organized rating systems
- Offer discounted service fees: Some governing bodies provide financial incentives or discounted fees for sanctioned events

One of the key components of sanctioning is the use of official player ratings. Ratings reflect a player’s skill level and are critical for organizing fair and competitive matches. Here’s why ratings matter:
- Ensures appropriate event placement
- Streamlines registration and event management since integrated ratings reduce errors and misplacement
- Facilitates updates and adjustments to players skill level
