Pickleball Profiles for Minors
Parents/Guardians can now create and manage their child's account.
|
Minor accounts were designed to keep minors safe while letting parents manage registrations, consent forms, and ratings in one place.These upcoming features will reduce administrative overhead for parents and make it easier for clubs and coaches to manage youth players.
Phase one is live and enables parents and guardians to create and manage minor accounts. This will be announced to our entire player database this Saturday in our player newsletter.
Phase two will focus on helping parents/juniors consolidate existing minor accounts under a guardian’s profile. This will be live in the next 3-4 weeks.

Key benefits of creating a minor profile:
- Register the child for events, lessons, and tournaments.
- Manage their privacy and media release settings through a guardian-managed flow.
- Maintain accurate contact and rating information (for example, a DUPR rating) tied specifically to the child.
- Keep parental oversight while enabling the child to participate in the pickleball community.

UPDATE: Setup Fee Payment Required to "Go Live"
|
Before your tournament can "go live", you must complete the following steps:
- Select a payment method
- Pay the $25 setup fee
- Select a checkout option
- Complete contact information
Previously: tournament directors received an email within 24 hours indicating that payment was due to avoid the tournament being deleted. After 5 days if no payment was made the tournament would be deleted.

How to Manage Weather Delays Efficiently

Bad weather is inevitable, but chaos at your tournament isn't. A solid communication plan is your key to keeping players calm and informed when delays strike.

The secret is proactive, clear, and consistent updates. We recommend the S.I.N. Method for every message you send:
- S – Status: What's the status?
- I – Instructions: What are instructions for players?

How to Select and Setup Event Skill Levels
|
Setting up your events for the proper skill is critical to a great tournament experience for your players.
PickleballTournaments gives you the ability set a skill or skill range for each event using the following options:
- "And Under" - all players below
- "And Above" - no upper limit
- "Only" - restricted to specifict rating
- "To" - custom skill ranges

You shouldn't wait to verify your events. Actually, best practice is to verify you events at least 2 days in advance. Some tournament experts even verify 7 days prior! Learn more ➜

The grey rating next to a player's name is key info. This is what the tournament director can view to know if a player's rating changed since they registered. Note: Sometimes it will say DUPR, or Self Rating.
