Player Poll Results: What Players Want in Tournament Formats
We recently asked players what they think the minimum number of matches should be in a tournament event — and over 500 players weighed in.
|
- 40% prefer 3 or more matches in pool play followed by a single elimination bracket.
- 36% said they don’t care about the format as long as they get at least 4 games.
- 14% like the traditional double elimination format.
- 10% are fine with single elimination and higher stakes.

Takeaway for TDs:
Players overwhelmingly value more guaranteed playtime over any specific format. Whether it’s through pool play, double elimination, or creative grouping, giving players multiple matches before elimination leads to happier participants — and likely higher return rates for future events.

Ability to Include or Exclude Forfeited and Defaulted Matches from DUPR Reporting
|
Tournament accuracy just got an upgrade. You now have full control over whether forfeited or defaulted (retirement) matches are sent to DUPR for player rating updates.
This feature helps ensure your results reflect actual competitive play — not unplayed or incomplete matches — while keeping reporting simple and consistent.
You can find this option in the Sanctioned / Approved & Ratings tab within your tournament settings. Just toggle the settings on or off depending on how you’d like results handled.

Why it matters:
- Maintain accurate player ratings by excluding forfeits and retirements when needed.
- Customize DUPR reporting on a per-tournament basis.
- Save time and reduce manual corrections after the event.

New Feature: Track Your DUPR Ratings History
|
Players can now see their full DUPR ratings history, including match-by-match rating changes after every event.
Whether your rating climbs after a big win or dips slightly after a tough match, you’ll see exactly how each result impacts your overall score.
|
This new feature gives players deeper insight into their performance trends — and helps Tournament Directors highlight the real impact of every match played at their events.

You can receive CC emails for registration updates. Did you know that you can opt to receive a CC email (copy of what players receive) for different registration-related items? Learn more ➜

You can edit all event details in one place. By clicking the “Edit List” button in the Events section, you can quickly change Dates, Costs, and Minimum/Maximum team sizes for all events at once. Learn more ➜

You can view player ratings at registration. The rating displayed to the left of an event shows the player’s rating at the time of registration. This helps track whether a player’s skill level has changed since they signed up. Learn more ➜

You can access player emergency contacts. Quickly view a player’s emergency contact information by using the Menu button next to their name under Attendees, then scrolling to the emergency contact section.
